Baking Again


It's been awhile since I have posted.... and baked from scratch.  But I'm getting on the saddle again and started yesterday.



This yummy Vanilla Layer Cake we easy to make and so yummy that i'm having it for breakfast.  Yes,  I ate my cake for breakfast.



I got this recipe from Martha Stewart's Cakes.  I recommend getting Martha's book and trying some recipes.

New 2014, New Me, New You!!


Every year I tell myself that I'm going to eat better and workout but within the first week something throws a wrench in my plan and I never do it.  But not this year!!  I have a plan and I am going to stick to it.  I am starting today (no need to start on a Monday or the new month or new year) but today!!!
I have my first  4 workouts planned and I can keep reusing them or change them as needed but at least I have the foundation down.  Yeah me!!!  I start with yoga in the morning.  Its only 20 mins or so to wake me up.  At some point in the day, I don't have an exact time because my day is always changing, I do strength, cardio, and knee strength training.  Then before bed I do another short session of yoga to relax me.  I usually have a problem going to bed so I think the yoga will help.  I know this is a little extreme but its only about an hour out of my day and since I stay at home all day I can take the time.  Your day probably is a little more packed then mine so cut down on what you have to but just make sure you workout some how.  My knee has always been a problem so I'm trying to get it back to semi good shape.  
I also have been eating semi healthy lately so I am going to continue this with changing one unhealthy thing for a healthy thing.  For example this week I gave up yogurt that has anything extra in it for the healthy version.  Though I know the healthy version is Greek yogurt, I don't want to spend $8 each time I want it so I go with the healthiest non-greek yogurt I can find.  It still doesn't have all the chemicals in it so I consider it clean. 
My husband thinking this is extreme but he also lime sweets a lot and I think how much he eats is extreme.  This isn't for everyone so make adjustments that fit your life. If you have any questions please let me know.

Lifetime fitness


We finally found a gym that we love. Lifetime fitness offers stuff not only for hubby and me but for the kids too. Swim lessons are cheaper then what we are paying now. They have an awesome rock wall the sis can't wait to try. Baby is still having trouble with being left alone but we're slowly working on it. 

Hubby and i love it. We just signed up yesterday but i understand an tell it's going to be our second home.  Once we're their longer i'll up date you on how it's working.

We're really excited to get in shape.

Workout 3 times.
Read one book.
Go hiking once.

Learn 2 new recipes.
Start to learn one new craft.

Put out 10 style guides.
Book one show.

Gyms


Why is it so hard to find a fitness center that has a place to watch kids?  My husband and i have been looking for a place to workout for a month now and have only found one place that has a place for our kids.  Where are parents suppose to workout?  And even then it costs almost 4 times as much as any of the other places.  Its crazy.  I hope we find a good place to workout soon. I need to.

Life


Life has a way of changing without your really thinking it through.  Two years ago my husband and i decided to move out pf state for a job the 6 months ago we decided to move back.  So we find ourselves living with my in-laws. 
Luckily my in-laws are awesome. Unlucky for me is i still haven't found activities for C. 
Hubby found a job but hasn't started yet so he still drives me crazy a lot.
We found great schools for E and K and they love them. 
Just need to get my life in order now.  Wish me luck!!

Can you believe that is the new year already?  Where did 2011 go?  So many things have changed and happened that make my life so great.

Books to Movies


The Pillars of Earth by  was a Great book but Very think.  When I heard they had made a mini series out of it, I just had to see it.  It looked really good and when I went to check it out at the library, the librarian kept going on and on about it.  I was really excited about watching it but I had to wait a whole week.  My first free day I couldn't wait anymore so I put it in.  I thought maybe I had gotten my hope up to high but I haven't been able to stop watching it.  It is Very close to the book. I was expecting something really bad but got something that I love.

I think I have to go buy it now!!  I highly recommend it but I would read the book first!
